<aside> 💡 TLDR: Clients are now able to make a specific equality monitoring template required, meaning that applicants must select an option for each category when submitting an application (or speculative application)

When creating or editing an equality monitoring template clients are able to choose if the template is enforced or not. Choosing yes will mean that applicants are unable to submit an application form without choosing an option for each category.
We have also moved the ‘Explanatory Text’, previously this was set at a company level in company → settings → equality monitoring. It is now configurable at the template level.
The explanatory text is the text that is shown above the equality monitoring section on the application form.
Lastly, we have added ‘Prefer not to say’ as an option to each category. It’s very important to note that this only applies to new templates created (for new companies, or existing companies creating a brand new template), we have not made any changes to existing templates.
Some jurisdictions require that specific information is captured. Allowing the enforcing at a template level helps to ensure the correct information is captured. Moving the explanatory text to the template level also allows clients to better explain why the collecting of this information is important, because they can be more specific when using more than one template.
