<aside> đź’ˇ TLDR: Users can now customise questions in the platform by specifying an answer condition to trigger additional questions displayed on application forms.

How it works

When adding/editing a question, there is now a new conditional question section at the bottom of the question card. When you add a new conditional question you are prompted to configure the condition which will dictate if/when this conditional question is shown. Using the example below, the conditional question will only be surfaced if the answer to the parent question is Yes. Note that the condition criteria will differ depending on the parent question’s type. E.g boolean questions can only be answered Yes or No (as seen below), whereas multiple choice questions have defined options, and text questions are free text etc.

After you have added a conditional question to a new/existing question, anywhere that this question is used within the platform it will be reflected on the corresponding relevant external application form.

Using the example from above, when the condition criteria is met (in this case the answer being Yes) the conditional question will be rendered on the page, underneath.

With this feature, as candidates fill out our external application forms, they'll be prompted with questions tailored to their responses. This dynamic interaction will not only engage candidates on a deeper level but also provides us with invaluable insights right from the start.

Previously to achieve the same functionality as conditional questions our users would have to define questions with titles such as If you answered yes to the question above, please tell us why your experience makes you a suitable fit for this role. This is cumbersome for users and a bad experience for candidates.
